Frequently asked Questions (FAQs)

When I visit, how can I get information?

  • There are numerous Greeter and Greeting points, and clearly marked Main Greeter Desks on our campus.  The people who staff these points are volunteers who are there to make your visit a good experience.  Do not hesitate to ask them questions, get directions, pick up brochures, or just stop by to say hi!

What should I wear?

  • You will see some people dressed up, though not many, and you will see some dressed very casually, but mostly you will see people dressed in the same comfortable, everyday style as if they were headed to school, work, the movies, or out to eat.  Please dress in the way you feel most comfortable.  You will see anything from jeans to the occasional suit. Your clothing isn't important to God; your willing and open heart is. Come dressed comfortably, but come ready to experience the presence of God! We are not trying to impress one another.

Do you have childcare on Sunday morning?

  • Yes! We are fully staffed with volunteers to care for your children, from infants, up to to pre-K. This includes both worship services, and during the Bible Fellowship Groups. Pagers are provided to parents of infants.

Where is the Childcare?

  • If it is your first time at Salem, the easiest thing to do is ask any Greeter for help.  Childcare is in Building C and Building D.  Nursery and childcare (birth to 4 year olds) will be provided at our 8:30 service. Nursery and childcare will be provided for Bible Fellowship Group time and the 11:00am Worship service. Children's Worship is at 11:00am in the Chapel for children ages 5 through 5th grade.

Is there a weekday preschool?

What is a Bible Fellowship Group?

  • Bible Fellowship Groups are a place to connect, a place to grow, a place to belong. You may have heard of Sunday School, but our BFG's are not really like school and they extend far beyond Sunday... so we call them Bible Fellowship Groups to be more accurate.  The BFG is a place where everyone has an opportunity to learn about our faith, to establish friendships, and support each other through prayer. BFGs help us connect to God and to each other and the primary focus of the group will be the study of God's Word.  Our BFG's are also organized to do "hand's- on missions" with a variety of projects across the whole spectrum of serving our city.

  • For children, groups are organized by age.

  • For adults, many groups are available... many are age based small groups, and others are organized around life needs or type of studies being used.  We encourage you to visit more than one group to find where you feel most comfortable.

  • More information is on the Get Connected web page.

Where do I park?

  • Handicapped parking is available on the west side of the new Multipurpose Bldg, and also by the playground.

Additional overflow parking is available across the street in the gravel parking lot

by the church office.  Curbside Greeters are usually available to help direct you as

          well.

What is Salem's Affiliation?

  • Salem is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and the Raleigh Baptist Association
