Transforming the people of the triangle and beyond...

James Kendall

Pastor James Kendall

Pastor of Preschool and Children

Joined Salem Staff: June 2008

Areas of Ministry: Oversees Children’s Church, AWANA, Wee Worship, Mission Groups, and all other children’s activities

Family: Temarie and I have been married for five wonderful years.  Getting her to marry me was definitely my greatest achievement while in seminary.

Saved: I grew up in a pastor’s home as the second of seven children.  I lived quite a sheltered life as a child (Temarie says I “grew up in a barn”).  With the constant teaching of biblical truths from my parents, I was saved and baptized at an early age.  I always wanted to enter the family business (all three brothers and father are in the ministry), but I was not exactly sure in what area of ministry until seminary. Having grown up with younger siblings always around, I have always loved working with children and am thankful for the opportunity to work with them full-time now.

Education: I graduated from Bryan College with a degree in Biblical Studies and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Apologetics.

Previous Lines of Work: Everything from building houses to scrubbing toilets to selling ladies’ shoes to cleaning cars.  You name it; I’ve probably had a job doing it.
