Transforming the people of the triangle and beyond...

About AWANA

A Typical AWANA Club Meeting
During a typical AWANA club meeting, children in Kindergarten through 6th grade will go to three different activities.

Handbook Time
Children work one-on-one with an AWANA leader to complete assignments in their AWANA handbook. AWANA emphasizes Scripture memorization and a basic foundational understanding of how we can defend the Christian faith. Awards and trophies are given to rewards achievements.

Game Time
Children play fun, active games in our gym. Every child gets a chance to play every week, and we try our best to play games where the most number of children can participate at a time.

Council Time
Children come together for a large group time involving a Bible lesson and award distribution.

Store
As children complete assignments in their handbook, they receive "AWANA Bucks" which they can use to buy toys and other novelties in our always-popular AWANA store.

Children ages 3 and 4 follow a separate schedule which includes a Bible lesson, Scripture memorization (short, simple verses), snack, and craft.

Age Groups
Children are divided up into different age groups.  These groups allow them to be better taught at their level as well as makes game time better and safer in that they are not competing against children either greatly older or greatly younger than they are.
