Disaster Relief

Hurricane Harvey

On Friday, August 25, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the coast of Texas. It caused severe flooding and extensive property damage, leaving many stranded and rescue efforts very risky. To support victims of Hurricane Harvey, we will be contribution monetary donations to the Texas Baptist Men. The Texas Baptist Men have one of the oldest and most respected emergency response support ministries in the nation. They move giant trailers onto the scene of every disaster in Texas and the nation - establishing emergency food pantries, meal service and shower facilities for first responders and victims.

Hurricane Irma

On Tuesday, September 5, Hurricane Irma made landfall in the Caribbean. After a series of fatal island touchdowns, the storm turned towards Florida and the southeastern United States. This storm, greater in size than Hurricane Andrew, left a large path of destruction and took many precious lives. Salem will contribute monetary donations to Samaritan's Purse and the North Carolina Baptist Men as they conduct relief efforts.

How You Can Help

Salem is currently collecting monetary donations to support relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. You can donate today through secure online giving, or via check with “Disaster Relief” on the memo line. Baskets for cash gifts and checks will be available during our worship services during September.

In addition to generous giving, we may also consider mission trips to support relief efforts. Stay tuned for ways you can get involved.

There are many ways you can pray!
