Transforming the people of the triangle and beyond...

Discipleship

Salem "Growth Institute" or discipleship classes is a ministry of spiritual growth in small groups with a focus on specific subjects and personal needs. There are two semesters of the Growth Institute. One begins in early September and concludes in late November and another semester begins in early February and concludes in early May. While most classes meet at 5:00pm on Sunday, some are held at various times throughout the week. See the class schedule below for current opportunities for spiritual growth.

2012 Winter/Spring Discipleship Classes

The Book of the Seven Signs: A Study in the Gospel of John, Part II: The Gospel of John is a unique perspective of the life of Jesus Christ. It varies from the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke (the synoptic gospels), by focusing more on spiritual themes rather than historical events. The book is filled with firsthand accounts of the experiences John and the disciples had as they lived with Jesus.  The twofold purpose of this book. First, John is setting out to give evidence why any man in any age or in any place can fully and wholeheartedly believe that Jesus is the Christ- - or to use the Hebrew form, Messiah, the Anointed One, the Promised One. The second purpose is to show that he is the Son of God.—Ray Stedman. This class is taught by Nick Sennert in Room D-134. This class will start January 15.
