Dr. Jeff Beckett
Dr. Beckett came to Salem from previous pastorates in the Waco and Dallas, Texas areas in March of 1999. He is married to Kathy, since 1982, and they have four children: Audrey, Allison, Amy, and Lucas. He did his undergraduate education at the University of Texas A & M, Commerce in History and Political Science, and received his Maters and Doctorate from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. His doctoral focus was Church Growth/ Missions.
Dr. Beckett believes that a church like Salem, located in the Triangle, should be a diverse, multi-ministry, multi-generational fellowship, constantly adapting our methods to connect the unchanging message of the Gospel to our generation.
Dr. Beckett loves family and travel time, most sports, but especially playing basketball, softball and golf, and enjoys “almost” being able to play his guitar, and mandolin.
One thing folks may not know about Dr. Beckett is he paid his way through college and later through grad school as a carpenter and construction worker and still finds his best “quiet times” with God to be when he is building, repairing or renovating something.
