Transforming the people of the triangle and beyond...

Jeff Beckett

Jeff Beckett
Dr. Jeff Beckett
Senior Pastor

Joined Salem Staff: March 1999

Areas of Ministry: Senior pastoral ministry and scrubbing the occasional toilet.

Family: Kathy and I have been married since 1982, and have been blessed with four amazing children: Audrey (just graduated from UNC, go Tarheels!); Allison, (soon to graduate from NC State, Go Pack!); Amy, at Apex High; and Luke at Apex Middle School.

Saved: I put my faith in Christ at the age of seven, while living in Paris, Texas.  I was baptized in the Spring of 1970 at the First Baptist Church of Paris, Texas.  I had wonderful and godly parents who raised me to value God and faith and ministry.   My first big job in ministry was as a kid, assisting my parents with a bus route, picking up kids from all over Paris and bringing them to church.   I have pretty much been in ministry ever since.   Though I accepted Christ so long ago, and never really knew the world without Christ, the decision to make Jesus my Lord is still fresh and obviously the best decision I ever made in my life!

Education: I did my undergraduate work at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M, Commerce, and my graduate and doctoral work at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft Worth TX.  My doctoral focus was in Church Growth and Missions.

Previous Lines of Work: I worked as a carpenter during my college years and I taught and coached in a AAA High School in East Texas in 1984-5.  I have served in Pastoral  ministry for the last 30 years in Paris, TX, Hewitt, TX, Dallas, TX and now Apex, NC  with only a brief break during seminary.
