Welcome to Salem Baptist Church! Below are some areas to help you plan your visit. Please connect with us at email@example.com, or (919) 362-7327, if you have any questions along the way. We are excited to hear from you!
What Should I Wear?
What you wear isn't important to God, though your willing and open heart is. Come dressed comfortably, but please come ready to experience the presence of God! We are not trying to impress one another. You will see anything from jeans to the occasional suit, but mostly you will see people dressed in a comfortable, everyday style.
What about My Kids?
We are fully staffed with volunteers to care for your infant through school age children. This includes all worship services as well as during Bible Fellowship Groups. Pagers are provided to parents of infants. If it is your first time at Salem, ask any Greeter to walk you through the process. We are excited to see you!
Where Do I Go?
Salem's 22-acre campus has several buildings - look for campus signs and maps at each entrance, or you can view a map here before your visit. It is likely that you will be greeted more than once when you come. Our volunteers are there to make your visit a good experience, help you find where to go, and point you to more information if necessary. Please feel free to ask them any questions you may have! The main greeter desk is in the lobby of Building D.
Visitor parking is available near the front (south) entrance of Building D, where the worship center is. Handicapped parking is available on the west side of Building D, as well as by the playground outside of Building B. Overflow parking is available in the gravel parking lot by the church office on Salem Church Rd. Curbside Greeters are usually available to help direct you as well.
Sundays at Salem
Traditional Worship, 8:15 AM in the Worship Center
Our traditional worship service is a blend of traditional hymns and choruses usually accompanied by piano and organ. The Salem Worship Choir leads congregational singing and sings anthems. The orchestra often joins the organ and piano to accompany congregational singing. Handbells are also used in our traditional service. This service is usually led by Pastor Jeff Olds.
Contemporary Worship, 9:40 AM in the Worship Center (Building D)
Our contemporary service is the newest addition to the Sunday morning worship schedule. This service is simple, casual, band-driven, contemporary in style. Pastor Daniel Barkley usually leads this service.
Modern Blended Worship, 11:00 AM in the Worship Center
Our blended worship service draws from the rich tradition of hymns, both ancient and modern, and utilizes a vibrant selection of contemporary worship music each Sunday. This service is a blend of the other two worship services at Salem and often includes Worship Choir, Orchestra, Praise Band, and many other ministries at Salem. This service is led in collaboration by Pastor Jeff Olds and Pastor Daniel Barkley.
Bible Fellowship Groups (Sunday School)
Bible Fellowship Groups (BFGs) are a place to connect, grow, and belong each Sunday morning. The primary focus of these groups is the study of God's Word. They also do hands-on missions through a variety of projects serving our community and beyond. BFGs are for all ages. Children are grouped by age, birth through high school. We have a special needs class for children and young adults. We also have a variety of classes for college-age adults to senior adults, based on various life needs or study topics. We encourage you to visit more than one group to find where you feel most comfortable. See a detailed class listing.
Community Groups are open to anyone interested in weeknight in-home small groups. They meet on various nights during the week, and offer Bible study, fellowship, and care/prayer support to mixed adults of all ages as well as several college-age groups. Learn more and sign up.
Our discipleship classes are normally Bible studies based on relevant topics, such as marriage, parenting, and more. Click here to see a current list of our discipleship classes and to register for one today. Please contact Pastor Justin at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
