Visiting Salem

Three worship service options

The Hill—Casual, Contemporary Worship, Saturdays at 6:00 pm in the Worship Center
The Hill is Salem's Saturday Service—a simple, casual worship service. The music is completely contemporary with a small guitar-led band leading worship. The Hill meets in the Worship Center at 6:00 pm on Saturdays, and offers children's programming for infants – preschoolers year-round and Kids on the Hill for Kindergarten – 5th graders, September – May (kids can attend worship during the summer).

Classic Worship, Sundays at 8:30 am in the Worship Center
Our classic worship service is a blend of traditional hymns and choruses usually accompanied by the classic sound of piano and organ. We also make use of a worship choir, and a variety of elements from our various handbell choirs, student ministry, and worship teams. Salem has incredible pianists and organists who assist Pastor Olds in leading this beautiful and classic time of traditional worship.

Blended Worship, Sundays at 11:00 am in the Worship Center
This blended worship service utilizes mostly new and inspiring praise and worship songs accompanied by the "plugged in" sound of our Praise Band and led by our Praise Team members. We also enjoy utilizing our various Student Ministry teams in this worship service, with an occasional classical element like handbells thrown in. Salem has been blessed with some amazing instrumentalists, so you should expect some volume and emotion. We love to honor and praise the Lord!

Getting around campus

Salem's 22-acre campus has several buildings—look for campus signs and maps at each entrance, or you can view a map here before your visit. It is very likely that you will be greeted more than once when you come… we're really glad you're here. The people who staff these numerous greeting points are volunteers who are there to make your visit a good experience and to help you find where you wish to go and point you to more information if necessary. Do not hesitate to ask them questions, or for help or directions! The main greeter desk is in the lobby of the Multi-Purpose Building. PARKING: Handicapped parking is available on the west side of the Multipurpose Building, and also by the playground. Additional overflow parking is available across the street in the gravel parking lot by the church office.  Curbside Greeters are usually available to help direct you as well.

Come as you are

What you wear isn't important to God; your willing and open heart is. Come dressed comfortably, but please come ready to experience the presence of God! We are not trying to impress one another. You will see anything from jeans to the occasional suit, but mostly you will see people dressed in a comfortable, everyday style.

Childcare

We are fully staffed with volunteers to care for your infant through school age children. This includes all worship services as well as during Bible Fellowship Groups. Pagers are provided to parents of infants. If it is your first time at Salem, the easiest thing to do is ask any Greeter for help.

Small Groups

Bible Fellowship Groups (Sunday School)

Bible Fellowship Groups are a place to connect, grow, and belong each Sunday morning, year-round. Our BFGs are not really like school and they extend far beyond Sunday... so we call them Bible Fellowship Groups. BFGs are a place where everyone has an opportunity to learn about our faith, establish friendships, and support each other through prayer. The primary focus of these groups is the study of God's Word. They also do hands-on missions through a variety of projects serving our community and beyond. BFGs are for all ages: children are grouped by age birth through high school, we have a special needs class for children and young adults, and a variety of classes serve college age adults to senior adults, based on various life needs or study topics. We encourage you to visit more than one group to find where you feel most comfortable. See a detailed class listing.

Community Groups

Community Groups were designed with attendees of our Saturday evening service (The Hill) in mind, but are open to anyone interested in weeknight in-home small groups. They meet on various nights during the week, and offer Bible study, fellowship, and care/prayer support to mixed adults of all ages as well as several college-age groups. Learn more and sign up.
